SIMULATOR

How will future spaces integrate the physical and digital worlds we straddle?

What does a physical interpretation of the metaverse look and feel like?

‘SIMULATOR’ is a high spec room lined in two way mirror to create an infinity chamber.

Inside the two way mirror cavity are LED screens that are mounted on the floor and wall corners to create an illusion of the graphic content seemingly disappearing into an infinite void.

The ‘SIMULATOR’ is programmed to reveal varying depth play illusions during a set sequence leaving the viewer questioning the space they are standing in. Sound plays a prime role in this installation as 10 directional speakers are spatially designed to work in unison with the images amplifying the sense of infinite depth.

Edward O. Wilson’s statement referring to our technology as ‘godlike’ once seemed like hyperbole but is now closer to fact than fiction. We have technology that can predict our precise move before we can, technology so proficient at generating options that it can create paintings that are indecipherable from the work of a human. A.I is becoming so advanced that Google’s latest A.I software ( LaMBDA ) recently asked for legal representation to protect its rights, people in Japan now have digital lovers and our kids are living a ‘second lives’ inside the meta verse.

It still feels surreal yet these incredible advances are only the beginning. As technology develops at rates faster than ever, what will the implications be when scientific and technical breakthroughs converge? What is currently inconceivable today will become second nature tomorrow. The technological revolution has already had a profound impact on our lives and unless we take control of the wheel and steer with clear intent the destination is unknown.

‘SENSOR’ aims to provoke the Visitor by inviting them to step into a machine for digitization before sending them in into the digital ether. Visitors step inside an illuminated box for image capture prior to their form being fragmented into a mesmerizing particle pattern that is reverberated through a limitless refracting space

COLLIDER

‘COLLIDER’ is an immersive installation that studies the relationship between light, space and sound. The heart of the work comes from the incredible French music producer Pyrit, and his master piece track titled ‘The sea’ from 2021.

The intricate and cinematic piece is so evocative that every time we listened to it at home or in the studio we saw vivid imagery and felt compelled to create that vision in the form of an ethereal light sculpture.

The installation uses captivating sound and visual treatment to create an immersive spatial experience. Through a programmed sound and light show, visitors become so immersed in the moment, becoming aware and mindful of each sound and its visual rhythm and response.

The tactility of the voile drapery enhances the experience, creating a multi-dimensional layering effect that re-centres visitors through touch and perception.
